This is an absolute beautiful vintage ring that was left to me by my late aunt in 1999. I never wore the ring and have had it safely packed away for 25+ yrs. The ring is by Baden & Foss, which was a fine jewelry company in New York between the 1940s -1970s. The ring is made of 14k yellow gold and has a beautifully prong set, approx 9/16" x 3/8", emerald cut, pink gemstone. I originally believed the stone was a pink sapphire. I was not positive & I know very little about gemstones, so I eventually befriended a very kind & knowledgeable jeweler. He not only tested the entire ring for me. He was kind enough to tell me a little history about Baden & Foss Jewelry. He said the ring is 14k gold but the stone is not a natural sapphire. It's a lab created sapphire or possibly lab created spinel or similar. It was common for high end jewelers to use lab gems because of the clarity that natural gems didn't & this at the time was very desirable. This ring is a sz 8 & is marked 14k and B&F. Thanks
